Hello everyone! Welcome to my fitness blog. Here I will discuss with you how I lost 25 pounds in 3 months. These tips are for the average college student with a busy schedule and a low budget for extra expenses. It is no secret that college can be stressful on young adults physically so it is key to begin taking care of the body as soon as one is ready to commit to the journey.
Your Mindset
The first step to beginning your personal fitness journey is your mindset. There should be no self body shaming or hate but rather a desire to change how you look on the outside if you are not satisfied. It starts with a conversation. Look yourself in the mirror and say “I love myself as is but I would love a healthier me.” Positive reinforcement goes a VERY long way. Once you acknowledge that you love yourself but want to make changes to enhance your life, you are ready to begin your fitness journey. All it simply takes is the desire to want to be a healthier version of yourself and you are on your way!
What’s on your plate?
Ever heard the saying, “you can’t outwork a bad diet.” Well, I am here to say that statement is extremely true. Anybody who has been on a fitness journey for a while will tell you that diet is where the bulk of weight loss comes from. What sense does it make to go to the gym, have a great workout and then swing by McDonald’s for a burger and large fry? None! But don’t be discouraged, healthy food options can still taste great without the guilt. Here’s some of my favorite food items that I’ve enjoyed on my fitness journey thus far:
- Eggs
- Spinach
- Bananas
- Cauliflower
- Broccoli
- Salmon
- Shrimp
- Ground turkey
- Peanut butter crackers
- Fresh fruit
Those are just a few of the food items that I mix and match to make delicious, healthy, filling meals. As for liquids, TONS of water and a shot of apple cider vinegar in the morning and before bed to curve appetite and lightly detox

Let’s get sweaty
One of the things I love about working out now is that it is super easy to do and doesn’t always require a lot of work. My best workouts came from easy work and having fun. Here are some of my favorite ways to get my heart pumping for only about 30 mins:
- Wear a sweat band – this can be worn around the house, while running errands and while sleeping! It encourages sweating in the abdominal
- Dance – put on some fun music and move around for about 30 mins. Taking minimal breaks will increase hear rate and intensity.Wear a sweat band – this can be worn around the house, while running errands and while sleeping! It encourages sweating in the abdominal area.
- Create a workout plan that consists of 5 workouts you feel comfortable doing, come up with a reasonable amount of reps and take your time. Fitness is a journey, not a race!
